We are in a unique position as our ‘founder’, Colin is an International Trainer as well as previously the Award Coordinator for several Award Centres.  He provides an understanding that many cannot from his experience working within schools and as a provider.

TAC offers a comprehensive service to Award Centres and those wishing to become centres.  By using TAC not only to you get the experience of a team that has been delivering AJs for over 10 years but the specialised knowledge and support of our Founder.  Who was part of the committees that designed the ORB and AJ development in China as well as being part of the Training Development.

TAC will assist and train your staff to better mentor the participants within your AC whilst also providing training and advice to participants in the Adventurous Journey as well as the other sections of the Award; Service, Skill, and Physical.  With further guidance to staff, you will set your students on the best path to success in completing their levels and ultimately achieving the Gold Award.

The Adventurous Journey

Keeping to our expected high standards TAC assessment of all routes and areas used is subject to rigorous exploration by a specialized team that’s sole purpose is the research of existing areas and new areas.  Locating suitable camping areas, water sources, and routes, and also preparing emergency procedure plans to ensure the experience delivered is of the highest quality and safety.

The program can be designed to fit within the ACs calendar whether the training can be delivered before the trips or during the practice journey our expert staff will guide participants through all of the required knowledge and skills required to complete this section.  A detailed Supervisor Report will be shared with the groups to assist in preparation to move onto the qualifying journey.

The practice and qualifying can be either delivered in the same week or over a period of a couple of months; we recommend not too far apart to ensure lessons are not forgotten, again a detailed Assessor Report will be provided with responses uploaded to the Online Record Book when the participants complete the AJ section.

Every journey has a 1:12000 or 1:24000 Topographical Map provided with a high level of annotation.  The route cards are provided to assist staff within the AC or our guides to train participants.  Furthermore, a specific training plan is provided to the AC detailing all the necessary skills and information that is required for the specific journey and mode of travel.
