Who will help me throughout the booking process?
A dedicated senior administrator is available by phone and by email to support you through the entire booking process including dates, catering, accommodation, programs and billing. No juniors or interns, speak to one professional person from start to finish.
What if I need help with programming?
Our experienced Programmer will assist you to design a camp that suits your budget, and year level and to achieve the goals you have for your students and school. This service is complimentary.
Does The Adventure Company have insurance?
Yes. The Adventure Company holds insurance for each participant and staff to a value of 800,000rmb. Certification is provided in the Trip Pack before the commencement of the camp.
Are The Adventure Company facilitators Qualified?
All Adventure Company facilitators are fully qualified in the activities they facilitate. All staff hold a minimum First Aid Certificate with most holding Wilderness First Aid or First Responder.
Do you cater for dietary requirements?
All dietary requirements are catered for by The Adventure Company's team of qualified cooks. All requirements whether they are religious, medical or otherwise will be discussed in the planning stages and information collection phase.
Does The Adventure company provide risk assessments for all activities?
Yes. A detailed Trip Plan Document will be sent to the school after all planning and information collection has been concluded.
Is there anyone onsite after hours?
Yes. Staff stay overnight on Expedition Camps and are available 24/7.
Residential Camps have permanent on-site managers and 24/7 security staff. The Adventure Company Staff are also based at the venue for the duration of the camp and are on call 24 hours.
what are student requirements while on camp?
· Students are required to keep accommodations neat and report any damages to The Adventure Company Staff.
· Students are required to assist the kitchen staff in keeping the dining area clean.
· Students are required to wash dishes on camp.
· Students are required to comply with all camp rules.
what are the teachers responsible for?
Teachers will be responsible for notifying the camp director of any incidents or damage whilst on camp, and also assisting the director and facilitators with group management at meal times and on activities. Teachers are also to work with The Adventure Company staff to support and enforce all camp rules. If a teacher has any issue with the safety of students; stop the activity and report the concerns to the director.
What are the adventure company staff responsible for?
The Adventure Company Director and facilitators are responsible for conducting the adventure activities in a safe environment, group management, informing the teachers of expectations and working with teachers on all issues that may arise.
Does The Adventure Company provide a packing list for students?
Yes. A detailed list of required clothing and equipment will be provided well in advance of any trip. All activity equipment is provided by The Adventure Company and personal equipment such as climbing harnesses cannot be used for Safety & Insurance reasons. We do not recommend that any valuable items such as phones, iPads etc be brought on camp, and The Adventure Company holds no responsibility for loss or damage to such items.
What happens if there is wet weather?
The Adventure Company has several activities that can still be conducted in the event of wet weather; if required the Camp Director will inform the Lead Teacher of changes either on camp or before arrival. Most schedules are flexible unless travel is an issue; however, we may be required to reschedule or substitute activities for the reason of safety and enjoyment of campers. The Camp Director will be in regular contact with the Lead Teacher throughout the camps.
